ARE ALL SECURITY SYSTEMS THE SAME?
If you are about to choose an alarm system there are many areas of concern, as there is a vast amount of electronic equipment available today. Firstly, find out about the equipment the installer intends to use, the type of alarm panel, detectors and the auxiliary equipment. Where is the equipment manufactured,? Who supports it? Should something go wrong  who will repair it? What guarantees are available? Do I have to sign long monitoring agreements? How long has the installer/alarm company been installing alarm equipment? Are the people installing the alarm system qualified? Never sign up under pressure and you do not have to sign a long monitoring contract.

Remember you are not only buying security equipment to protect your family, home, office or factory etc you are also drawing on the experience of your chosen installer, so for peace of mind ensure your installer has the appropriate trade qualifications necessary to carry out your security installation. Recommendation is always the best form of referral. If you have been happy with the installation and service you can always recommend that company with full confidence

Cost is a very important factor when considering an alarm system, competition between rival companies can be fierce. Shortcuts taken by unscrupulous alarm companies do more damage within the industry and ultimately the consumer is left disillusioned and dissatisfied with the outcome. Avoid companies that offer seemly low "cost" or "attractively priced" alarm systems as they often hide unexpected costs and conditions.  Past industry trends have shown  that  these companies arrive with all the glitz and glamour and disappear without a trace within a few short months leaving their clients with no chance of maintaining or repairs to the alarm system should something go wrong.

Regarding monitoring, there are a number of options available: A) Direct line monitoring, B) Securitel, C) Cellular links, or  D) Standard telephone dialer. The type of monitoring required by a client, depends on the level of security needed. The final choice is always the clients. An  alarm installation company can only advise on the type of monitoring available.

Take the time to listen to your chosen installer, work together discuss the issues and concerns and the result will be a better designed system that will meet your needs for now and the future. Remember, in a burglary you only get one chance to get it right .
